Easter Fashions for Kids including cute sailor dresses

Spring is upon us and Easter is near. Right now, department stores are featuring lots of lovely dresses for little girls to wear and suits for boys. It's great to see the kids dressed up on Easter Sunday.

Even if you are not in a religious family, you might have some springtime occasion to attend with the kids, where you want them to look their best. So if it is not a church function (or synagogue function for Passover), perhaps it is the theater for a broadway play or a party. These outfits are also great for kids who are attending weddings as guests, not necessarily in the wedding party as flower girls, bridesmaids or ring bearers. 

Here are some of the best fashions that I have been seeing for kids in Spring 2009.:

I've taken some care with choosing the fashions featured in this hub. I guess I'm an old fashioned lady. I think that kids should look like kids and it seems that many fashions make kids look like miniature adults. For girls, the dresses featured here are very appropriate for many different types of occasions, whether they be church or synagogue functions or other springtime events.

The first dress featured has a sailor design. I love the sailor design for childrens' clothing and it never seems to go out of style!

The sailor design has to be one of my favorites and I would be enthusiastic about buying it for my daughter. I think a little girl would also like to wear a dresses like this as much as her parent would like it.

To the right are photos of some other dress that I like, also available at Dillard's. Most of them are sold with little boleros.

I think that the pink and brown dress is adorable. The colors, pink and brown go very nicely together and fashion designers use the combination quite often. Pink and brown often make up the color themes at weddings as well.

The prices of most of the girls' dresses at Dillard's range from $30-$50. You will notice that just as with dresses for adult women, the peasant dress design is one of the most economical that you can find.

The peasant dress can however be very stylish and as appropriate for the special occasion as a more formal and more expensive dress design.

The cost of the brown peasant dress to the right is $30.

I would have to say I am most impressed with the collection of children's clothing at Dillard's for Easter 2009. With Rare Editions, Bonnie Jean, Xtraordinary and more designs, there is quite a selection.

There are however some nice selections at the other department stores as well.

Here comes that sailor design, which I adore again. This time for younger girls. Sizes 2-6x. The sailor dress below is available at Macy's and is a great find for this Easter season.

For the budget conscious, I would be remissed to not mention Walmart. There is a selection of about ten choices for girls' dresses that you can check out on the Walmart website before they're all snatched up. The product reviews for the dresses are quite good. People think that they have gotten their money's worth.

With dresses on clearance for just $12, originally $18, it's hard to go wrong. You can also relax when the children are playing in the grass or drinking red punch! With the very inexpensive selections at Walmart, you can probably have no worries when it comes to stains that might get on clothing from eating and drinking during special occasions. Remember, kids will be kids and it's easier to accept an unremovable stain on a cheaper garment than on a more expensive one.

The dress below, available at Walmart, is a George Girls' Dress. It is cotton with polyester lining. Machine wash, tumble dry. Sleeveless with a Jewel Neck and a button back. $12. Originally $18. At the time of writing this hub, it is only available in sizes 4 and 7.

I can go on forever with the fashion available for little girls this Easter season, but I must not forget about the boys. Here are my picks for the boys' fashions that are available at this time.

I prefer the lighter colors and seersucker suits to dark blue or black for spring time.

To round out my top picks for boys' fashion during the Easter season and spring time in general, I choose a Sean John jacket and pants in tan as well as poplin shirt and tie combinations. These shirt and tie combinations can be chosen in whatever color your son would like to wear. They can be worn alone or with a jacket depending on formality and preference.
