Choosing gender neutral nursery decor for your expected baby
63So, you've decided not to learn the gender of your expected baby and you are in for a wonderful surprise on the day of the birth but you are also up for a challenge as you prepare for the upcoming birth.
It's time to decorate the nursery and you have no idea wear to begin. You do not want to decorate with standard pink for a girl or blue for a boy because you do not know whether you a having a boy or a girl.
Most expecting mothers seem to choose to learn the gender of the baby because it adds convenience in planning and preparations but I agree with the joy of being surprised. Here are some suggestions for how you can still plan and prepare by decorating a nursery in gender neutral colors and themes.
For colors, you might choose mainly yellows and greens. Some people also like to choose a green and brown combination.
1. It will depend on your own taste, but my #1 pick is to choose an animal theme of some sort. It can be 'jungle friends' -a wild safari, puppies, ducks, etc. Here are some pics that coincide with an animal theme.:
I love the crib sheet below. It has the jungle friends theme and features lions, giraffes, monkeys and alligators.
Similar to the crib sheet above is the Tiddliwink safari crib sheet below, also available at Target. You can get crib bumpers, crib skirts and all other needed bedding with the same theme.
Below is another one that I like, the Happy Tails crib set available at Walmart.
Below is an example of some adorable wall art that goes with the safari theme.
2. Another type of theme that I like and would recommend is the alphabet and/or numbers theme. Below is a beautiful crib bedding set from Walmart.
3. Finally, for gender neutral nursery decor, I might also recommend characters such as Winnie the Pooh, Snoopy or Looney Tunes characters. Such themes are good for baby girls or boys.
